Texas Western Heritage Exhibit

The IPAT Museum has dedicated a permanent display case at the museum to show pieces celebrating Texas Western Heritage.  Our Museum will make efforts through this exhibition to have interaction with other Western heritage museums and artists throughout the United States.

 

  • Who can participate:  All IPAT members welcome

  • How to get insight on the theme:  Members can research on topics such as the history of HOW antique porcelain art pieces arrived in Texas from Europe and the original 13 US colonies and/or the “1835-36 War of Texas Independence” for history of the birth of Texas.

  • What to paint:  Examples are Texas wildflowers, native animals and landscapes, the introduction of the cattle drives, history from 1835-1836 that created the State of Texas, peoples of Texas area past and present – their daily life and methods to sustain life in various Texas land regions.

  • What kind of porcelain: No larger than 10” in diameter or 8” x 10”; no frame.

  • How to participate:

  1. Email your intention to Suzanne Painter (ipatsuzanne@gmail.com) or IPAT Office Manager (office@ipatinc.org) with your name, IPAT Membership Number and a high quality photo of your artwork taken with solid background for IPAT’s record and publishing in IPAT’s publications and media. 

  2. Submit your artworks by mail to IPAT Museum at PO Box 1807, Grapevine, Texas 76099.  Please send the tracking number to the office at office@ipatinc.org.  

  3. International members who wish to participate, but are unable to mail in a piece may submit high quality photos of their piece to be displayed on a monitor at the exhibit.    

  • Fees: Free, this exhibit is funded through a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts.  IPAT members may contact Dallas China for up to $50 in supplies for their project to be provided by the grant.  Members must have their IPAT membership number.
